The cottage is ideally located to explore the Wild Atlantic Way in the Southwest of Ireland! A 15 minute drive will take you to the busy town of Killarney and to Killarney National Park with its beautiful lakes and mountains. There you can take a boat ride on the lakes, jaunting car rides to Muckross house ground gardens or through the Gap of Dunloe, visit Torc waterfall or walk around the lakes, on the hills or on the Kerry Way. For another, longer daytour join the Ring of Kerry and follow the scenic coast road through Glenbeigh and Waterville to Kenmare.
Killarney has a number of renowned restaurants and traditional pubs with nightly entertainment, cinemas and a concert hall. Tralee, famous for its Rose Of Tralee annual festival, for a great nights entertainment at Siamsa Tire and for the Aquadome Waterworld is also just 15 Minutes away. A 10 minute drive will take you to the town of Castleisland with its well renowned 18 hole golf course. Crag Cave is nearby offer one of the finest examples of limestone cave formation in Ireland. Come and see the incredible examples of pillars, stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, curtains and straws that have been meticulously forming over the last 15,000 years.
Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean Kerry’s coastline is renowned for its spectacular Blue Flag beaches and stunning scenery. The drive to Dingle brings you past Inch Strand, a 6.5 kms long Blue Flag beach with breath-taking scenery. Dingle town, with its abundance of shops, pubs and seafood restaurants as well as a colourful busy little fishing harbour, is about 45 mins. away. The spectacular Slea Head Drive is a exceptionally picturesque corniche road and leads you past prehistoric remains along the rugged coastline with glorious scenery including the Blasket Islands and small sandy beaches dotted among the Cliffs.
